Summary of the Job:

The Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for helping develop and execute corporate communications and employee engagement and advocacy strategies to inform, engage, and inspire our community of job seekers and employees while also delivering on business objectives. This is a highly visible role and one that will enable you to make a tangible impact.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare strategic communication plans for the company; ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision.
  • Measure and present results of communication efforts
  • Manage company intranet content and measurement tools
  • Assist Communications team in various facets of announcements, planning, monitoring and events internally and externally, as needed.
  • Develop a range of content including stories for intranet and company newsletters, business announcements, company all hands, PowerPoint presentations
  • Develop communication strategy for initiatives, and campaigns
  • Create and manage a communications calendar to structure the flow, timing and coordination of communications and increase efficiency of current communication practices – in partnership with Employee Engagement/HR, crisis communications, marketing, social media, media relations, web and other departments and content managers.
  • Manage special projects including monthly releases, virtual press events, research offerings, etc
  • Work with VP to liaise with PR agencies
  • Work with key internal stakeholders (executive management, marketing, product, HR) to execute programs in support of important news and launches

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent phone and computer use
  • Creating written communications
  • Able to sit/stand at a desk
  • Able to bend, sit, stand, lift boxes or equipment (between 0-15 lbs)
  • Able to travel occasionally

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Media relations experience, contacts and results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in a variety of formats and media
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience turning research (surveys, white papers, etc) into content (press materials, pitches, tv segments, infographics)
  • Partly responsible for disseminating information to clients, consumers and employees
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Detailed knowledge of AP style. Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Sharepoint and social media channels
  • Ability to target writing to different audiences
  • Superior organizational and follow-up skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 5-7 years

CareerBuilder employees are currently remote. We do have offices based in Chicago and Atlanta. When it is safe to return to the office, you will have the ability to continue to be remote or utilize the Chicago or Atlanta offices as determined by your manager.
