Position Overview

The Cyber Security Operations Analyst is responsible for researching, tracking and monitoring all user activity and interactions with the CareerBuilder sites. This position focuses on conducting advanced level investigations across multiple systems.

You will be working in a professional, fast paced environment that requires accuracy, multi-tasking, and clearly communicating resolutions in an efficient manner. The role requires a combination of strong technical and communication skills so that complex data can be analyzed and then translated into actionable information, identify patterns to prevent or quickly stop fraudulent behavior while ensuring an appropriate balance between risk and customer experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enforce CareerBuilder Terms and Conditions.
  • Monitor real time queues, investigate and identify high risk transactions within assigned SLA. This includes but not limited to ecommerce orders and client accounts. While ensuring an appropriate balance between risk and customer experience.
  • Engage and communicate directly with customers via phone and email to verify key information and ultimately decision orders.
  • Address employer and job seeker questions/issues through email and over the phone.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for other groups and departments with regard to Global Cyber Security Fraud Operations. May need to work with Legal and outside Law Enforcement or Agencies on investigations.
  • Provide updates on the Fraud Pages and CBForum regarding latest scam alerts.
  • Helps develop, maintain, and implement policies/procedures to detect and prevent fraudulent activity and to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate case notes setting forth all required actions in chronological order.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Security or Fraud certification preferred (CISSP, Security +, CFE)
  • Complete a minimum of ten (10) hours of continuing education for security related matters per calendar year.
  • A passion for learning and cyber security
  • Minimum 2+ years in online fraud investigation and mitigation
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with frequently-shifting priorities
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with strong research and writing instincts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with MS office suite; advanced Excel experience preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP
  • Ability to analyze email headers
  • Professionalism, with ability to balance urgency and decisiveness with customer service relationship skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, including ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Requires shift-work, including weekends, non-business hours and holidays, and may require on-call availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
