What’s the role?

Department Managers will be responsible for providing strategic direction to one of the departments at CareerBuilder Employment Screening. Department Managers will be in charge of managing the daily operation of the department through the effective use of internal and external resources. We are looking for a leader who will ensure each team is being led with transparency, integrity, and active diligence.

  • Coaching and leading Department Supervisors on a daily basis to ensure all teams across the department are achieving performance metrics/goals
  • Monitoring volume and work progress in order to provide Department Supervisors and Operations Leaders with proper departmental forecasting
  • Driving employee engagement across the department by ensuring employee training needs are being met, and that recognition/rewards are being utilized frequently to award positive behaviors

Further responsibilities include:

  • Conducts daily check-ins with workforce team to discuss and resolve any barriers to success affecting the team
  • Develops Department Supervisors through holding frequent one-on-ones to discuss performance, career growth, and continuing expectations
  • Cultivates process improvement strategies to increase the overall efficiency of the department
  • Identifies performance gaps through consistent monitoring of department performance and creates/implements improvement strategies
  • Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet department Service Level Agreements and manage costs associated with fulfillment
  • Monitors, coaches, and documents any disciplinary, training, and career pathing issues for Department Supervisors and employees; provides timely feedback to employees on continued progress
  • Writes and delivers annual performance appraisals on each direct report
  • Supports training efforts to ensure new hire training is achieving desired departmental needs
  • Collaborates with Sales, Account Management and Client Service to ensure overall client satisfaction

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4-year post-secondary education, or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, good judgment, ability to multi-task and manage time well
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, OneDrive)
