Summary of the Job:

The CareerBuilder Infrastructure Operations team has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Engineer in our Norcross, GA office. This person will work on a team supporting the company’s hybrid cloud platform. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is comfortable working in a team environment. The candidate will be a member of the IT Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for all relevant server, storage, virtualization, and Linux and Windows servers.  Will liaise between IT management, Networking, cloud services, sponsors, users, and other IT personnel to communicate issues regarding overall operations status and strategy. The expectation of tuning user devices to meet current best practices and security standards results in high functionality and performance while ensuring close to zero downtime.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues and work with vendors to resolve more complex issues.
  • Working knowledge of logging calls with OEM:  Dell power edge servers, HPE 3 PAR, Dell storage, etc,
  • Respond to Incident Management to identify root causes and strategic solutions to recurring problems.
  • Develop relationships and periodically meet with IT Operations, R&D, Enterprise Software, and Business users to gain insight on requirements, needs, and experience.
  • Work with other IT teams, R&D, and business users to support and manage server incidents and performance issues.
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Monitor our SAN environment consisting of 3PAR storage and Brocade / Cisco fiber switches
  • Provides support for equipment racking and installations based on needs
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support all infrastructure and site services
  • Responsible for all Windows server operating systems, security, and management tools including Active Directory management, SCCM management
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, particularly with implementing/troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Group Policy Preferences (GPPs)
  • Understanding of server builds in both physical and virtual hosting environments.
  • Participate in a global Network Operating Center (NOC) for alert management and response.
  • There may be a requirement to work outside normal office hours to undertake routine maintenance or resolve problems.
  • Travel to visit data centers when needed (Suwanee and Ashburn)
  • Can clearly articulate complex technical solutions in simple business terms.
  • Security: Stay abreast of company policies and industry best practices.

 

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong Analytical and Troubleshooting skills required
  • Working knowledge of Windows servers, Working knowledge of  VMware or other Hypervisor
  • Must know how to implement SSSD for Linux AD Authentication.
  • Support high availability Linux in a 24/7 enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must have familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google cloud platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of Networking
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • At least 1-industry certification (MCP, VCP, MCSE, CCNA, A+, Network Security, etc.)
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects and Group Policy Preferences
  • Experience in deployment and maintenance of Windows, Linux, and custom appliances in the VMWare and Citrix virtual environments.
  • Experience with endpoint encryption and anti-virus.
  • Knowledge of Virtualization: VMWare, Linux, Citrix XenDesktop, and XenApp
  • Security: Familiarity with CIS, NIST, and Data Privacy laws.
  • Experience with Office365 platform (Teams, Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive) Exchange PowerShell, a plus.
  • Experience in PAM tools like BeyondTrust or One identity is plus
  • Understanding of basic networking, Monitoring Tools: Solarwinds a plus.
  • Windows and ITIL Certifications are preferred.
  • MUST reside in Georgia, and near Suwannee, GA

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline or equivalent experience is required.

 

Minimum Years of Experience:

 5 years of hands-on System Administration

 

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent phone and computer use

  • Able to sit/stand at a desk
  • Able to bend, sit, stand, lift boxes or equipment (between 0-15 lbs)
  • Able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally
