Summary of the Job:

With a focus on planning and execution, this role acts as a dedicated project manager for a subset of the initiatives supported by the Global PMO.  They do what is necessary to ensure our organization can deliver on the prioritized objectives of the business. PMs are an advocate for readiness and completeness of work, keeping metric-driven delivery goals at the forefront for each project they work on.  This role works to ensure synchronization between groups occurs on cross-functional deliverables to reduce the risk of impediments and missed deliverables.  The person in this role must have a solid understanding of the building blocks that make up our solutions.  Likewise, the person in this role must be in tune with the business vision to help defend the pull-through of the right projects at the right time. By working with their Program Management Leader, the Project Manager should provide insight into the progress of deliverables across our ecosystem, ensuring communication is reaching all applicable partner groups/stakeholders.


CareerBuilder works in a multi-disciplinary environment where self-organization is highly encouraged.  The person in this role must be a subject matter expert on a variety of project management methodologies and should act as a consultant in their program area when needed.  Coaching on self-organization and managing up ineffective practices are actions the person in this role should take when necessary. 


The person in this role must be an effective communicator with the ability to raise awareness about resource constraints and/or dependency conflicts.  This person is also responsible for identifying, communicating, and vocalizing process inefficiencies within their project team(s), managing these issues up to their Program Area Leadership.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive Planning through relevant actions such as:
  • Identification of stakeholders of each project with the project driver/sponsor
  • Identification of key dependencies which could span across multiple internal departments
  • Facilitation of work breakdown to identify project scope, timeline, and resources
  • Influence Prioritization decisions based on knowledge of customer expectations/pain points/strategic objectives
  • Drive Execution through relevant actions such as:
  • Ensuring synchronization between teams
  • Impediment removal within projects
  • Dependency coordination during execution
  • Conscious of timeline, resource, and budgetary constraints
  • Communicate with partner groups/relevant stakeholders on progress
  • Business Acumen: Understand the overall business vision and strategic objectives
  • Project Management Subject Matter Expert: Consult on self-organization/project management techniques to ensure organization, cohesiveness, and transparency of projects


Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced project management skills (scoping, resource planning, commitment, execution) required
  • Project management certifications a plus
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, at all levels
  • Superior organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to multi-task and manage ambiguity effectively
  • Strategic thinking is a plus

Bachelor’s Degree


Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ overall employment experience required
  • 1-2 years experience as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or related discipline in a multi-disciplinary environment required


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent phone and computer use
  • Creating written communications
  • Able to sit/stand at a desk
  • Able to bend, sit, stand, lift boxes or equipment (between 0-15 lbs)
  • Able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally



CareerBuilder employees are currently remote. We do have offices based in Chicago and Atlanta. When it is safe to return to the office, you will have the ability to continue to be remote or utilize the Chicago or Atlanta offices as determined by your manager.
