Summary of the Job:

We are currently seeking a Salesforce Developer III to join our Enterprise Software team supporting our global Salesforce platform. Our fast-paced and experienced team works in a large, complex Salesforce (SFDC) environment and relies on Lean Development Principles to support a variety of line‐of‐business applications and data analysis/manipulation processes, primarily around SFDC automation and improving productivity with our sales, success, and customer support teams. The primary focus for this role will involve taking business and functional requirements from concept and development through deployment to the production environment. The ideal candidate has strong experience working within an agile development environment and experience in standard project methodologies.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in the Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, including working with Opportunities, Orders, Leads and various Sales Processes and Workflows, as well as Cases and the Service Console. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support existing functionality and address end-user support needs.
  • Develop custom Apex and Visualforce Classes and Triggers to ensure functionality aligned with business needs.
  • Develop Lightning components and be familiar with event‐driven architecture and frameworks.
  • Design, develop and implement unit and scenario testing for existing code base and for new functionality under development.
  • Architect, customize, and configure new implementations.
  • Provide design and development elements working with project teams as a primary developer, with other internal developers, or on the business, side to gather requirements and translate them into system functionality.
  • Understand user stories and build technical requirements from which to develop, including proof of concept (POC) solutions.
  • Maintain a clear history of code through the use of source control tools.
  • Building scalable solutions and 'smart' code that can be reused in the future.
  • Self‐manage and or vendor manage delivery on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Configure and maintain user security permissions in compliance with organizational needs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking current practices, and participating in professional associations.
  • Provide project sizing and estimates for design solutions, evaluate design options and assess risks/issues.
  • Analyzing complex business and systems requirements and providing technical solutions to meet user requirements.
  • Designing and developing solutions on our Salesforce platform integrating with backend systems and working closely with our IT, product teams, data warehouse, and business leaders.
  • Providing best practice guidance and design recommendations on the Salesforce platform.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Partnering with application and data developers on designs, models, and best-in-class implementation.
  • Being a member of the agile team(s) that focuses on delivering on our internal client’s needs.

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in HTML, XML, JavaScript, ASP, SQL, Java or C, SOAP‐based web services, JSON.
  • The experience building complex, scalable, and high‐performance software systems that have been successfully delivered.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills are invaluable in this role.
  • Salesforce Data Model, how and when to create custom objects vs. leveraging standard objects and functionality.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I certification is a plus, Platform Developer 2 will set you apart, but we care more about knowledge and experience than test-taking skills.
  • Experience with integration on an enterprise-level
  • Prior Agile development experience is highly desired
  • Marketing: Pardot
  • Issue and Project Tracking Management: Jira
  • Salesforce Application Deployment: Skuid

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have direct reports.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a technical or business‐related field; Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree.

 

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • Ideally, our new team member will have 3 – 5 years of experience as a Salesforce Developer, with systems analysis, design, architecture, development, testing, implementation, documentation and support of the technical solutions within Salesforce and our connected business applications.
  • 3‐5 years of Salesforce development experience, including Configuration, Workflow, Apex, Triggers, Visualforce, Javascript, Salesforce APIs, and Lightning.

Physical Demands (the US only):

  • Frequent phone and computer use
  • Creating written communications
  • Able to sit/stand at a desk
  • Able to bend, sit, stand, lift boxes or equipment (between 0-15 lbs)
  • Able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally
