Reporting to the CIO, the Senior Director, IT will work collaboratively across multiple IT functions, employees and vendors to ensure IT operations for cloud and on premise infrastructure hosting environments, global networks, and IT services are reliable and scalable. The candidate will bring a successful track record for planning and implementing programs to enable infrastructure and networks to operate and scale reliably for a fast growing global organization. Operational excellence and continuous improvement are at the heart of this position due to the critical nature of the oversight responsibilities which include the IT service center, information security, data base management,   network and infrastructure operations, cloud operations, incident and problem management, as well as change management.

The Senior Director, IT will lead the technical teams as they guide the organization in areas that are very dynamic, increasingly complex, and involve collaborating with suppliers, outside organizations, and internal stakeholders. This leader will be self-motivated and able to independently drive strategic initiatives from idea to execution through effective teaming and networking across CareerBuilder.  

Job Requirements:

  • Providing leadership for short- and long-range planning for all technology initiatives: vision, goals, program objectives/strategies/activities, infrastructure, staffing, training, evaluation, budgeting, and collaboration with others.
  • Define the technology road map and manage day-to-day IT operations and execution of key initiatives in support of the business strategic plan.
  • Establish the systems and processes to test and perform disaster recovery.
  • Ensure maximum uptime and stability in the company's systems and networks.
  • Effectively influence change to work toward best practice operations at an enterprise level.
  • Learn quickly and rapidly integrate changes driven by a growth business.
  • Work collaboratively with key IT and business stakeholders including business unit IT teams, architecture and engineering functions to identify and implement reliability improvements.
  • Willingness to dive into operations and technologies at detailed levels in order to effectively triage performance issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ability to effectively frame operational improvement opportunities to executive level stakeholders in the language of the business.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity, and demonstrating confidence in making tough calls while leading through adversity with a sharp focus on the right business outcome.
  • Establish the metrics dashboard for IT operations that effectively measures performance and drives continuous improvement and situational awareness across IT teams and vendor partners.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security leader and team to ensure infrastructure remains secure.
  • Collaborate across internal IT teams and vendor partners to understand key change initiatives and ensure effective transition to operations.
  • Collaborate with the Architectural and Engineering functions in the development and evolution of technology standards to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive step change improvements in operational performance of infrastructure, networks and services.
  • Ensure major programs and projects of high impact to the organization and businesses are implemented and operated with quality.
  • Support the integration of acquisitions through a scalable IT operations playbook and model.
  • Build and manage financial plans and budgets.
  • Manage vendor relationships and hold vendors accountable for high performance.
  • Mentor leadership and talented individuals in infrastructure operations, cloud operation, data base management, DevOps teams to develop an excellent organization.

Preferable Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar. Master’s degree desired.
  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible IT Infrastructure Management experience
  • Experience managing and implementing Cloud architectures in a DevOps/Agile methodology.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing or overseeing the management of mid to large-scale information technology projects, including complex cross-functional and cross-organizational projects.
  • Sound understanding and appreciation for all major functional areas of IT.
  • Experience managing and planning a complex multi-million dollar operating budget.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Experience recommending new technology and processes that will improve customer service, reduce costs and/or provide a competitive advantage.
  • Must be adept at root cause analysis; ability to develop and implement corrective actions in a timely fashion, enlisting support as needed.
  • Must have superb communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Must have significant relationship building skills with a history of heavy interaction with the "C" level.
  • Must have a strong track record of evaluating, analyzing, designing, implementing, leading, and monitoring effective and efficient processes to proactively improve computing and staff performance while effectively ensuring maximum value to the stakeholders for IT spending.
