Software Engineer I is the first level of Engineer and is mainly project and backlog focused. A recent graduate and/or a candidate with task level experience typically staffs this task-oriented role. While they are highly supervised, Software Engineer I’s are expected to contribute to the overall development of software team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job responsibilities.
  • Attends team meetings, works with team and leaders to develop iterative plans and actively contributes to the development efforts of the team.
  • Communicates openly and candidly with his/her team and leadership regarding the status of their assigned tasks/projects.  
  • Learns and applies our software development principles, policies and standards.
  • Takes active ownership of his/her tasks and solutions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used software development concepts and practices used by the team.
  • Actively seeks out learning opportunities to increase development.
  • Meet customer expectations and timelines

 

Job Requirements:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-3 Years commercial experience programming with Perl or a similar scripting language.
  • Understanding of basic software engineering concepts.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented and/or functional programming concepts.
  • Problem solving skills using one or more programming languages.
