The Sr. Manager Procurement will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing the purchasing activities, policies and strategies for the company across multiple commodities and regions of the world including the identification of opportunities for cost improvement and the creation of business partnerships with our 3rd party vendors.  This person will be required to understand category trends, develop and manage supplier relationships in addition to developing strategic sourcing strategies and have experience in the areas of Marketing and IT procurement.  They must be adept at influencing key stakeholders and building strong relationships across the businesses that their commodities support.   

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Lead strategic negotiations to maintain our current and build new long term win/win business for our company and vendors, with a focus on Marketing and IT.
  • Streamline and consolidate vendors to increase buying power while developing new vendors.
  • Strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies and processes through on-going market and spend analysis to maximize value and standardize our services
  • Prepare RFP’s for major contracts, negotiate terms and conditions, execute contracts and centralize the administration of those contracts.
  • Select and manage vendors (with business partner), assess capabilities, evaluate performance by developing and tracking KPI’s and SLA’s to measure service level, compliance, quality, conformity and cost.
  • Benchmark performance between various suppliers and identify opportunity for improvement.
  • Develop relationships with key business partners, understand their goals and objectives and create solutions to support those goals and objectives.
  • Drive cost improvement into the companies spend without sacrificing quality and service to our customers or clients.
  • Provide deep functional and technical procurement expertise across various categories and regions of the world
  • Work with the internal legal team to develop and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSA’s) with key suppliers/vendors which can be leveraged across the enterprise.
  • Manage purchase requisitions/orders and ensure company compliance in order to accurately track spend commitments.
  • Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports and demand forecasts and adjust sourcing strategy as required to support the needs of the company.
  • Review supplier financial statements/reports and work with Risk Management to evaluate overall supplier health (supplier risk assessment). Develop back up plans for all key vendors.
  • Adhere to all legal standards and codes of ethical conduct at all times throughout the procurement process. Avoid potential conflicts of interest.

 

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in business, finance or related field preferred
  • Minimum 7 -10 years of procurement and/or category management leadership responsibilities
  • Understanding of financial analysis, vendor comparison analysis, and strategic sourcing
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel)
  • Solid knowledge of a variety of commodities and sourcing requirements
  • Understanding of differences in procurement processes and cultural requirements while operating in different regions of the world
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • High level of initiative and a sincere desire to drive results
  • Ability to deal with opposing opinions and drive agreement
  • Familiarity with supplier and customer markets and the ability to follow cost and technical trends in the commodities and/or categories they support.
  • Creative problem solver with a high degree of analytical skills
  • Strong influencing, communication, and presentation skills, as well as an ability to collaborate across businesses, departments, and the global landscape to build the teams required to drive the required results.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a rapidly growing business/fast-paced work environment.
  • Leadership skills and relationship building skills across multiple departments are essential.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to effectively leverage systems and spreadsheet applications.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • High performer with a passion for quality and teamwork.
  • Understanding of how procurement of goods is conducted in a global market place
  • International experience is preferred but not required
