Summary of the Job:

CareerBuilder is looking for a User Experience Researcher I to join the User Experience team.  As a UX Researcher, you will collaborate with our product and design teams to deliver actionable insights that influence product design, and your understanding of various research methodologies will be applied to a variety of research projects across our mobile and desktop products. 


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineers to identify research needs
  • Design, plan, scope, and conduct user research studies including usability testing (in person and remote), ethnography/field research, concept testing, surveys, and card sorts
  • Tag, organize, and archive research reports into a searchable database to increase research transparency across the team and organization
  • Review, analyze, and report qualitative and quantitative data to deliver actionable insights to the product and design teams
  • Find creative and compelling ways to share research insights throughout the organization

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Practical understanding of traditional and new research methods, UX methodology and design thinking
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Ability to influence and guide others on the value and importance of user-centered research
  • An understanding of agile product development practices


Bachelors degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or related field.

CareerBuilder employees are currently remote. We do have offices based in Chicago and Atlanta. When it is safe to return to the office, you will have the ability to continue to be remote or utilize the Chicago or Atlanta offices as determined by your manager.
