The BIDW Developer II is knowledgeable in one or more specific areas of development in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence (BI) Team Services, and Data Analysis. This position focuses research, development and delivery of business intelligent and analytical solutions including: dashboards, reports, user interfaces, associated data structures and analytical data models using various DB tools including: AWS Glue, Athena, MySQL, Pentaho, PostgreSQL, Google BigQuery, and Tableau. The BIDW Developer II interfaces with business users to understand their needs and then translates them into solutions which deliver business value. A BIDW Developer II posseses the necessary skills to produce quality scalable solutions but still requires some oversight.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
•    Develop data movement processes utilizing Extract, Transform, and Load tools and methodologies
•    Analyze source data structures in order to design ETL processes and data warehouse data structures
•    Use standard data modeling, data flow, and data documentation tools to analyze, document and present data analysis work
•    Work cooperatively with others to resolve data and process issues
•    Work with non-technical subject matter experts to understand underlying data behavior and characteristics
•    Develop complex queries to solve data mining problems
•    Write reliable and efficient programs scaled for large datasets 
•    Create and maintain thorough documentation for data dictionaries & formulas
•    Design analytical reports in Tableau to present KPI’s to business leadership
•    Work closely with data modelers, business data analysts, and BI developers to understand requirements, develop ETL processes, validate results, and deliver to production
•    Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of data collection, extraction, and storage processes


Job Requirements:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
•    2-5 years ETL development/data warehouse experience
•    High level of proficiency in SQL, python, data warehousing, and database optimization
•    Familiarity with developing ETL processes using AWS Glue, Athena, Lambda, and S3
•    Experience developing in Apache Spark utilizing python pyspark
•    Experience with ETL tools and logging ETL metrics in a framework. Kettle/PDI, the Pentaho ETL product preferred
•    Must understand the full concept of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) development, dimensional data modeling, database stored procedures, data analysis, and database development experience.  Must also have experience writing complex stored procedures and scheduling batch jobs 
•    Experience working in an Unix/Linux operating system
•    Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as with Tableau, Qlik, Business Objects, SSRS or Cognos is highly desirable
•    Clear understanding of RDBMS fundamentals
•    Understands data profiling and data analytics
•    Very detail oriented and quality focused. Able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development
