INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (DNS AND DOMAIN SERVICES SPECIALIST) 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineer who will help us to manage and maintain our DNS, SSL Certificates and Domain Name services. This engineer will help manage the tools and vendors such as AWS Route53, domain name hosting services and both internal and external DNS environments for multiple domains.  

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

  • Troubleshoot issues relating to DNS, certificates and domain name registrations. 
  • Support/maintain DNS infrastructure including private/public services 
  • Proactively review, monitor and track certificate expirations to ensure renewals are happening in a timely manner 
  • Register/transfer domain names with internet domain name registration services 
  • Periodically review services to ensure stability and eliminate unused resources 
  • Work with other teams to coordinate domain and certificate verifications and renewals as needed 

NEEDED CHARACTERISTICS  

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams across locations/time zones 
  • Effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills  
  • Self-motivated and self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction 
  • Effective organization and time management skills 

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE  

  • Minimum of three (3) years of IT Operations experience 
  • Hands-on experience with DNS services, records and terminology 
  • Hands-on experience with issuing, renewing and troubleshooting SSL certificates 
  • Experience with registering/transferring domain names

DESIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Amazon Route 53, Amazon Certificate Services 
  • Active Directory DNS and DHCP 
  • Linux server experience 
  • Microsoft Certificate Services 
  • Certification in any of the above is a plus 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent experience is strongly preferred
