The Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a key contributor to driving alignment between the organization's human resource strategy and the business.  The HRBP will take an active role within all business areas in order to help counsel, develop and retain top talent and achieve current and future business objectives.  The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an amazing and innovative culture as the organization grows and scales.

 

The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to team members and managers on a variety of human resources topics. This individual will act as a champion and change agent for HR initiatives. This role assesses, anticipates and communicates needs proactively within the HR department and seeks to develop integrated solutions. This individual must establish strong partnerships to deliver value-added service to management and team members.

 

Key Responsibilities/Activities:

 

  • Provides advice and counsel to managers and team members to resolve employee related questions or issues.
  • Develops recommendations to management to enhance employee engagement and organization effectiveness.
  • Manage and resolve employee relation issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Partner/escalate as appropriate.
  • Proactively assess team and employee development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
  • Interpret and apply human resource policies, procedures and programs, ensuring consistent application while working with management to provide solutions that balance business and employee needs in compliance with Company policy.
  • Work closely with internal client groups on day-to-day performance management process and coaching of managers on the development and performance improvement process for employees.
  • Possesses solid understanding of employment law and ability to provide HR generalist support to managers on effective use of HR related systems as well as performance management issues ensuring compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Manage and facilitate organizational design, survey action planning, visioning, and team building that support change and growth
  • Works closely with management and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Gather and analyze employee engagement data through means such as the annual engagement survey results, informal discussions, feed-back from employee exit interviews, attending departmental team meetings, and other creative methods in order to understand the current pulse and best identify opportunities for continued development. 
  • Work with the Learning & Development team to identify and create new course content and offerings based on business interest and need. Conduct employee and manager education and training courses as needed
  • Partner with our legal team to stay current on legal trends, and share this knowledge with team members and leaders that you work with as needed. Make decisions and provide advice while mitigating risk and incorporating all necessary legal considerations. 
  • Partner with Benefits Team to administer disability, FMLA and applicable leaves programs with a focus on effective management.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and attend hearings as necessary
  • Partner with the payroll team as needed to troubleshoot employee’s questions related to their pay and with our automated payroll web portal use.
  • Participate and at times facilitate new hire orientation program for the purpose of successful new hire socialization and transition into the organization, an introduction into the business, and familiarization with Company policy and procedure.
  • Supports and assists in the recruitment efforts to attract high quality talent for all exempt and nonexempt positions.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee action groups and other employee teams
  • Assist/Prepare/coordinate events e.g. holiday celebrations, employee recognition events, service awards, community support.
  • Maintains human resource information system records, files and metrics as needed.
  • Executes special projects or other related responsibilities based on the needs of the organization

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working in full service human resources department resolving complex employee relations issues. Must have at least two yrs. experience serving as the front-line strategic business partner.
  • Working knowledge of all human resource disciplines including Employee Relations, Performance Management, Recruiting, Talent Management, Change Management, Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, Analytics, and Learning & Development.
  • Demonstrated success resolving conflict with competing priorities, interests and opinions.
  • Must be self-motivated, collaborative, resilient and willing to continually drive process improvements.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and attention to detail skills. High degree of versatility required.
  • Results oriented and service-minded with the ability to build trusted relationships and partner with business leaders to achieve initiatives and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated project management and change management skills and ability to drive programs independently. Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing requirements and needs of the business.
  • Excellent conflict resolutions skills with the ability to act as a facilitator and advisor.
  • Able to think creatively and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to data integrity.
  • Strong presentation skills; comfortable in front of senior leadership and decision makers.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Proficient with HRIS platforms and MS Office Suite
  • Experience running and analyzing HRIS reports.
  • Frequent computer use
  • PHR, SHRM-CP Certification, preferred
