The candidate will be a member of the IT Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for all relevant server, storage, virtualization and database services.  Will liaise between IT management, Networking, cloud services, sponsors, users and other IT personnel to communicate issues regarding overall operations status and strategy. Expectation of tuning user devices to meet current best practices and security standards resulting in high functionality and performance while ensuring close to zero downtime. 


Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Leverages best practices approach towards projects, implementations, and issue resolutions; ability to provide status updates and reports.  
  • Responsible for VMware, Citrix and SAN and other hosting technology.  
  • Strong knowledge of all Windows and Linux server operating systems, security, and management tools.  
  • Perform server builds in both physical and virtual hosting environments. 
  • Responsible for Storage Area Networks provisioning, upgrades, administration 
  • Responsible for virtual infrastructure upgrades, patching, tools and monitoring. 
  • Responsible for Citrix Storefront administration and Xenapp. 
  • Work with other IT teams, R&D and business users to support and manage server incidents, Citrix, storage and performance issues. 
  • Responsible for maintaining operating system versions and patching levels on all supported systems. 
  • Responsible for documentation for all supported environments. 
  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues and work with vendors to resolve more complex issues. 
  • Respond to Incident Management to identify root causes and strategic solutions to recurring problems. 
  • Develop relationships and periodically meet with IT Operations, R&D, Enterprise Software and Business users to gain insight on requirements, needs and experience. 
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. 
  • Participate in a global Network Operating Center (NOC) for alert management and response. 
  • There may be a requirement to work outside normal office hours to undertake routine maintenance or resolve problems. 
  • Takes responsibility for the documentation and execution of large-scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. 
  • Effectively estimates timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference. 
  • Can clearly articulate complex technical solutions in simple business terms. 
  • Depth in understanding of multiple technologies and technical platforms 
  • Strong analytical aptitude quickly understands new technologies and how they work. 
  • Security: Stay abreast of company policies and industry best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred or relevant experience in an Enterprise environment. 
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in server support roles in a VMware and Citrix environment 
  • At least 1 industry certifications (MCP, MCSE, CCNA, A+, Network Security, etc.) 
  • An in depth knowledge or VMware virtualization technologies and Citrix Xenapp and Storefront administration. 
  • An in depth knowledge of Dell Compellent and HPE 3PAR or similar Storage Area Network (SAN). 
  • Understanding of ‘Core Services’ including, but not limited to, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, Systems Management, Data Backup & Security, etc  
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.) or .NET programming language. 
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects and Group Policy Preferences 
  • Experience with endpoint encryption and anti-virus. 
  • Security: Familiarity with CIS, NIST, and Data Privacy laws. 
  • Experience with Office365 platform (Teams, Office 2016, SharePoint, OneDrive) Exchange PowerShell, a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of basic networking. 
  • Monitoring Tools: LogicMonitor experience a plus. 
  • Windows and ITIL Certifications are preferred.
