Job Summary:

The Vice President, Controller is responsible for ensuring that CareerBuilder’s global internal systems and procedures are effective so that the company can produce accurate financial information, effectively communicate results to all stakeholders, provide sound business decision support and efficiently monitor performance against operating goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position serves as the company's principal accounting officer with responsibilities that include global consolidation, internal and external financial reporting, corporate accounting policies, acquisition accounting, technical GAAP research and analysis as well as leading the company’s shared financial services, risk management and tax functions.

This role will require the candidate to be a problem solver and critical thinker, capable of identifying opportunities for process improvements and driving change management.  Experience managing an accounting team in a private equity environment preferred.

              

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Oversee shared financial services group that provides revenue accounting, billing, and payables and disbursement services for the company’s worldwide operating divisions.
  • Lead the preparation of the company’s global monthly closing statements and reports.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of cash flows.
  • Remain current with new accounting technical standards impacting financial reporting. Own technical GAAP. accounting research as issues arise.
  • Develop and maintain sound corporate worldwide accounting policies, procedures and systems that insure accurate financial information and compliance with regulatory needs.
  • Act as the key advisor to the CFO on major accounting, financial and operational issues.
  • Direct the company’s tax, regulatory compliance, and risk management efforts worldwide.
  • Ownership of the company’s global accounting and financial information technology systems.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports for external groups such as auditors, regulatory agencies, and tax authorities.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or masters degree in accounting
  • Experience with driving change and process improvements
  • Successful track record building and developing high performing accounting and finance teams
  • CPA required

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with SOX compliance preferred
  • Experience in high-growth, fast-moving organizations
  • Strong commitment to personal development
