Job Summary:

We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer II to join our Infrastructure Platform Engineering team (IPE) at CareerBuilder. The IPE team is responsible for managing and monitoring all of the server, domain, workstation, and database infrastructure throughout the global enterprise. This position is based out of our Norcross or Buckhead office. The primary function of this role is to manage our Linux server environment; responsibilities include owning, tracking, and resolving Linux server related projects, support, and requests. Additional responsibilities include Linux patch management, responding to server related alerts, and will require intermittent availability for 24/7 on-call rotation. This position will also help support our Windows, domain, VMWare, AWS, and additional platform infrastructure.

 

The ideal candidate has a well-rounded IT toolset, is highly motivated, self-directed and able to keep up and prioritize high priority support, projects, outages, and critical alerts. Candidates should have good architecture skills, strong Linux knowledge, excellent problem solving skills, and an ability to learn and support multiple environments, operating systems, and management tools.

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Design, architect, and maintain Linux servers in the private datacenter and in the cloud
  • Design, architect, and maintain Linux patch management
  • Manage system issues, upgrades, performance tuning, deployment, and maintenance
  • Support for server management tools
  • Support our Windows server environment
  • Support our AWS environment
  • Incident and Problem management
  • Respond to escalated support tickets and user requests queue
  • Server infrastructure documentation

 

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant experience in an Enterprise environment
  • 4-6 years’ experience in IT as a Server or Systems Engineer, with 2-5 years’ experience in Linux administration or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of patch management tools (SCCM, Kasaya, Spacewalk, BigFix, etc), deployment technologies (vCommander, VMWare), and Linux server operating systems
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc)
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory
  • Experience with Windows Operating systems
  • Experience with Virtualization, the cloud, and server migrations: VMWare, AWS
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call rotation

  • Must have an Enterprise proactive vision
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong analytical skills
